But saving money is sexy only when you are still able to keep your actions inline with your values. What does that mean? Oh this is a pretty simple concept that I'm sure you have heard before and most likely from someone you respect and trust. It's all about thinking of others and doing the right thing. Most of us know what this means already without even thinking about it, but sometimes we just choose to look the other way or pretend that it is not that important. 'Oh that does not effect me so it is not relevant or have any impact on my life.' Sure, I have done this countless times, but that is why I am writing this now - to do my best to learn and to not continue to make the same mistakes.

But more directly it relates to everything that goes into our jewelry and how we conduct our business. Where does the gold come from? Who mined the diamonds? Are these people getting fair wages? What are their working conditions? Are they children? What are the environmental implications? These are all serious issues that Niccolo Bella is trying to assess and do our best at doing the right thing so you are confident with your purchase.
I'm sure you understand that if a business is selling an item at an unbelievable low price then there are reasons. These factors often involve doing whatever it takes to make money even if that means claiming that unethical behavior is fine as long as it is legal somewhere. And let us not forget that someone is affected. Maybe not your friend or family, but someone's mother, sister, son or loved one is affected by not standing up for what is right.
I have made mistakes even while creating Niccolo Bella, but I am improving and trying to stick to my values. I understand that saving money at the expense of others is not an option. We can pretend that there are no consequences to our actions, but you and I are smarter than that and know that we also have the option to do the right thing.
When I was a boy my mother told me that I would get an unsettling feeling in my stomach that would let me know that I was not making the right decision. She also said that if I made the right decision that I would know in my heart, even if it seemed more difficult and I stood alone, because I would not have regret and I would feel a sense of peaceful strength.
She was right. I know her lessons have helped me and you can be confident that Niccolo Bella will take a straightforward approach that is honest and respectable. So let's all keep these things in mind so that we can distinguish ourselves and our partners.
